Privacy
How Appsotech Ltd handles personal data across Akadesk Academic OS. Each product is operated separately and stores its data in its own database.
This document is a plain-language summary awaiting legal review. Where an institution has a signed agreement with Appsotech Ltd, that agreement governs.
Who controls the data
For records an institution enters about its own learners and staff, that institution is the data controller and Appsotech Ltd is the processor. We process those records on the institution's instructions and for no other purpose.
For accounts created directly with us — an enquiry through this site, or a candidate account on Past Question Practice — Appsotech Ltd is the controller.
What is collected
Account details (name, email, role and the institution you belong to), the academic records the institution enters, payment records held by our payment providers, and technical logs needed to run and secure the service.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use learner records to train models.
Where it is stored
Each product stores its data in its own PostgreSQL database. No two products share a database, and inside each database every row belongs to exactly one tenant.
Payments are handled by Paystack (Nigeria) and Campay or PawaPay (Cameroon). Card and mobile-money details are held by those providers, not by us.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your personal data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Where the controller is your institution, we will pass the request to them and support them in answering it.
An institution leaving Akadesk may export its records. Export is a standard feature, not a negotiated one.
